Water People

Postby Inlightnsoul » Tue Jan 29, 2008 5:51 am

Sure there was a time when mermaids and mermen existed, sounds good to me. Some people claim to even encounter these "angels of the sea" I myself saw one, beautiful and bright in a dream, she helped me to the surface, back to my rubber ducky floaty after I ran out of flying power.

But as far as during the waking day do you think this mermen or mermaid encounters are just possibly the conscious projections of really smart fish? Perhaps they mirror our image through their fish eye and what we see is a mermaid, or a mermaid. If we are looking for a Nessie will a swordfish think this is a funny thought, a bird be frightened and then we catch this image on the back of a whale? Any thoughts or personal experiences with water people?

((HUGS))

I would think that if there were any truth to evelution, and we actually did originate from water...then you'd probably have some that didn't make the complete transfermation...(shrugs)

On the other hand...maybe merpeople do exist but due to the overwhelming fear us humans have of anything different, and our tendancy to "experiement" they keep out of site.

There honestly are enough remote locations in this world where such a people could exist without us really knowing any better.

But then...there are the Big Foot as well that we have a belief about...so could be that they exist out of site...in a different dimension and sometimes slip thru a doorway and we get a glimps...who knows.

I have to believe though that there has to be some truth to it all as with most stories of such creatures...some grain of truth.

Peace

Reminds me of one of my favourite films: The Abyss

What an AWESOME film and as for the fundamentals, why not?! :-D Ok, so I maybe straying from the 'norm' of what we believe Mermaids/Mermen to be, but then again, 'aliens at the bottom of the ocean' is indeed what we could refer to such as.

I wonder if they [if there are any!?] are as bemused and horrified at the 'dark side' of the human race, as the aliens in The Abyss were shown to be..

I definitely believe in the existent of such magical creatures and their safety should always be remembered.

Shannix, yes it is probably our compulsive need to understand and share and all that that prevents there whereabouts from being known. Personally if I encountered such a magical creature I would try not tell anyone where or what I saw, unless I felt I real divine guidance to share with a certain person.

WhiteGoddess, I have always enjoyed the idea of intelligence at the bottom of the sea, and water would be a very good place for these "people" to create a community...

In the expanses of the mind and the vastness of the whole of reality including the spiritual realms and the astral plane. All things including mermaids, fairies and the imaginations of mankind do exist in reality. They all have a place of existance beyond just imagination and even a power of existance that are created from our beleifs. We are Creators, however on a spiritual level the logic and processes of prooving reality can not be used to determine truth from error. All things can exist on a spiritual level.

I have never seen such beings on this physical planet. But during times of dreams have seen much that is not here. Places of beauty and those that can not be called such. The spiritual realms are far more vast that 1 million Earths could ever be. For it covers the whole of the universe, where the earth only covers a minute part of that.

We have much to learn and far to go. Love vibrates far more closely than fear. That has been measured. And that vibration hits more parts of the dna strand that makes as we are. Thus opening up more of our inherent abilities and possibilities. Peace and happy scouting to all you spiritual adventurers out there,

Interesting topic! I googled Nagas and got some interesting info via http://www.khandro.net/mysterious_naga.htm

The Heart Sutra was apparently transmitted to Nagarjuna via Water Beings.

Nag'arjuna

The Indian mahasiddha, Nagarjuna, received his illuminating insights and tantric empowerment with the help of the nagas in the lake beside which he meditated. Nagarjuna is one of the main champions of Buddhist philosophy, and is traditionally portrayed with a sunshade or halo formed by a multi-headed serpent. He is called the Second Buddha, partly in tribute to his having established the Madhyamaka [Middle-Way, ie. neither materialist nor nihilist nor idealist] school of philosophy.
See the Buddha's protector-naga in the process of transforming into Nagarjuna unsheathing the sword of wisdom at the Asian Art web site.

As there are serpents in Tibet, and nagas known as kLu play a role in the symbolism of Himalayan Buddhism and in Tibetan mythology, so Nagarjuna is known as Lu-trub.

The tradition of Sera Monastery holds that when Sakya Yeshe was on his way back from visiting China, it so happened that the set of Tengyur (Buddhist scriptures) donated by the emperor fell into the water while the party was fording a river. The travellers could see that the texts were hopelessly lost and so, distraught, they continued on their way back to Sera.

When the caravan finally got back, the monks told them that just before their return, an old man with attendants had visited Sera and presented a set of scriptures to the monastery. He said that he was delivering it for Sakya Yeshe. It was believed that the old man was really a Naga king, for when the texts were examined, it was found that they were still a bit damp.

The traditional life-story [Tibetan: namthar] of Niguma, the female companion of Naropa, begins during the time of one of the earliest Buddhas in a region covered by water ruled by a great Naga King. This Naga was an accomplished and compassionate disciple of that Buddha and gave his permission for the miraculous drying up the water for the purpose of erecting a great temple and monastery. A bustling city grew up around these which acquired a certain reputation, and came to be called The Land of Great Magic. This is the place that Niguma was born.

Niguma developed the powerful tantric techniques referred to as the Five Dharmas of Niguma. The best known is called the Dream Yoga of Niguma. Her disciple, Naljor, is considered the head of the Shangpa Kagyu denomination of Tibetan Buddhism.
